This is not an infomercial, it’s presented free as a public service.

A year ago, when gas first hit $3 a gallon, I wondered to myself how fuel mileage was affected by the way you drive in the city.  Everybody knows if you drive 80 on the highway your mileage will be worse than if you drive 55, but what about daily driving in town?

So, I studied up on hypermiling techniques and used my previous gas saving strategies from the last “energy crisis”.  I’ve gotten 22 mpg city in Accords forever, which is the EPA sticker rating.

After a few tanks of practice, I now get 29 mpg city in my 94 Accord on a regular basis.  Although I am using some common hypermiling practices, I’m not a menace on the roadways (most of the time), like a lot of those crazy people I’ve read about.

I’ve spent hundreds of hours of research on fuel mileage tips and the future of alternate energies and now teach a class on how to get better fuel mileage.  It’s possible for almost anyone to get 20 to 30% better city mileage than the EPA sticker says and you don’t have to buy anything or do anything special to your car.  These techniques will be equally effective in your Prius or Civic hybrid or any other Honda, Acura, Toyota or Lexus hybrid vehicle driven in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The class has 3 parts:  The first part covers actual practices that will improve fuel economy.  The second part is 23 “fuel mileage tips” that we’ve all heard or seen advertised.  I call this “Brilliance or Baloney?” because most of them are true baloney.  Only some are true.  We cover all of them and discuss each one.  The last part of the class is about energy and the future.  Covered will be how hybrids work, plug-in hybrids, plug-in cars vs the electric grid, diesel, air-power, electric cars, natural gas, wind power and much more.

This is another example of our commitment to our customers to help you reduce the cost of owning and driving a car.
